About our founder

Fort Collins’ premier residential contractor was born in Connecticut and moved to Fort Collins in the late 1970s. Al is a skier and is a big fan of Colorado’s natural beauty. He found Fort Collins to be the perfect town to raise his family and is very proud to live here. Al has watched Fort Collins grow from a small college town into the current city it is today.

Along the way he has helped build many of the houses in this town, first as a Construction Superintendent for Everett Construction, then as Construction Manager for Storck Development. He later became VP of Construction for Mark Twain Homes before leaving to start his own company.

Since 1999 Al has enjoyed being his own boss after founding Al Kulenski Building & Remodeling, Inc.

This family run business specializes in basement finishes, remodels and custom new home construction. We are a locally owned, independent general contractor, who can give our customers the one on one attention they deserve.

Al is a master carpenter, who served a carpentry apprenticeship along with four years of trade school. Al has over 30 years of construction experience.

Fully licensed and insured for residential construction in Northern Colorado.
